The superintendent or his or her designee shall develop procedures for compliance with this policy and shall maintain records that are updated biennially documenting the district’s compliance with this policy.[2]

Date Revised/Adopted: October, 2008

[1] This policy is required of school districts that operate Title I schools.  Comparability requires that LEAs document that the services provided with state and local funds in Title I schools are comparable to those provided in non-Title I schools in the LEA.  If an LEA serves all of the schools in its district with Title I funds, the LEA must use state and local funds to provide services that, taken as a whole, are “at least comparable” in each participating school.  The comparability requirements do not apply to an LEA that does not have more than one building for each grade span.

[2] Required by 20 U.S.C. §6321(c)(3).
