August 2018

Dear Addison Northwest School District Families,

On behalf of the Addison Northwest School District Board and Central Office Administrative Staff, allow me to be among the first to welcome you to the 2018-19 School Year. We are all very excited to begin another year in fulfillment of our goal to successfully educate our learners through high expectations for student achievement and an unrelenting commitment to excellence. It is vital as a school community that we remain focused on our mission to achieve our goals by aligning our priorities and decisions with these outcomes in mind as it is the true reason we are all here; to help our students reach their fullest potential both academically and socially.

Many of our staff have been working hard this summer in support of the school year ahead. ANWSD administrators, custodians, educators, and central office staff have worked hard doing many essential tasks that many do not see or appreciate, such as curriculum development, lesson planning, scheduling, hiring new staff, rolling over student information systems and financial accounts, archiving student records, and deep cleaning the schools. This year had the added challenge of major construction projects, which were both complex and exciting. Now we welcome the energy and promise of the new school year, and eagerly await the arrival of our students.

As a new Superintendent, I look forward to learning more about our unique communities, and what life is like in ANWSD for our students and staff. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any of your ideas, questions, or concerns.
