Meet the Team

Kathy Alexander

Child Nutrition Director
Food Service Collaborative

Kathy has a passion for supporting families and children to thrive with good food and nourishment. She has over 20 years of experience in school nutrition. Kathy believes that nutrition is at the heart of success in school. When she is not working, she is happiest knitting or cooking for lots of people. Kathy lives with her husband and their 13 year old pug, Percy.

 

Rachel Cornellier

Administrative Assistant for Student Support Services & Preschool
Medicaid Clerk

Rachel joined our team in July of 2021 with many years of experience as an Administrative Assistant in different settings.  Rachel is a graduate of Vergennes Union High School and is enjoying being back in her local community. She enjoys spending time with her family, her husband Ryan and their 2 kids (who will both attend FCS in the fall)  and their small farm of random animals. 

 

Jody Delisle

Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

Jody Delisle joined the team as Payroll and Benefits Administrator in July 2019, after serving as the Administrative Assistant at Vergennes Union Elementary School for 19 years.  Jody is a member of the following professional groups:  Vermont School Human Resource Professionals (VSHRP), Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA).  Jody has lived in Addison County all of her life and enjoys serving the faculty and staff of the ANWSD in her current position.

Peter Garrecht

Interim Director of Student Support Services

Peter Garrecht  is newly hired as the Interim Director of Student Support Services. He has over 30 years of experience in education, including the past 15 years as a special educator at Vergennes Union High School. He is excited to work with teachers, administrators, and families in creating an accessible learning environment where all students feel welcome and valued and where they receive the support they need to succeed. 

Garrecht holds a Master of Education and CAGS in School Leadership from Saint Michael's College. He is a lifelong learner and enjoys problem solving, trying out new hobbies, acquiring new skills, and learning from his mistakes. When not at work, he loves exploring the country and the world with his wife Nina.

 

April Jennings

Fiscal Analyst

April Jennings was hired as the Fiscal Analyst in September of 2017 . She is a native of Bristol, Vermont, and has worked in various accounting roles in several school districts since 2007. Prior to working in school districts, she worked for the National Bank of Middlebury for eight years.   

A graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, she received her Associate in Science for Accounting in 2022. April is currently a member of the Vermont Association of School Business Officials.

 

Elizabeth Jennings

Director of Operations and Finance

Elizabeth Jennings was hired as the Director of Finance & Operations in July of 2017.  She is a native of Lincoln, Vermont and has been working in a business office capacity in Vermont school districts since April of 2004.  She worked at Burlington School District and Mount Abraham Unified Union School District prior to her arrival at ANWSD.  Elizabeth has an Associates Degree in Accounting, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Liberty University in Lynchburg VA. Elizabeth was recently appointed as Vice President of the Vermont Association of School Business Officials (VASBO), and served as the Treasurer of the Association from 2017 through 2022.

Dan Jewell

Accounts Payable Specialist

Dan Jewell joined the team in December of 2019 as Accounts Payable Specialist.  Dan comes with many years of experience in accounts payable/receivables.   Prior to joining the district he worked for UVM Health Network Porter Medical Center for 17 years.  He is a native of Monkton, Vermont & enjoys living here in Addison County.

 

Gabe Hamilton

Director of Learning

Hamilton was appointed the Director of Learning in 2021.  Prior to this position, Gabe was Proficiency-based Learning Coordinator/Coach at MAUSD. Gabe also taught Middle and High school Science and Photography for 18 years in Oregon and Vermont.  Gabe is an adjunct instructor for Castleton University and Southern New Hampshire University and has taught courses and led workshops in proficiency-based learning across the state.  He holds a Master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Oregon, was a 2015 Rowland Foundation Fellow, and received the 2022 Ned Kirsch Innovative Leadership Award.

 

Kimberly Hunt

Coordinator for Equity and Inclusion

Kimberly Hunt started as the Coordinator for Equity & Inclusion in July of 2023. She has lived in Vermont since she graduated from the University of Vermont with an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education Mathematics. 

Over the past several decades, she has taught sixth through twelfth grade as well as coached teachers in instructional practices and family school partnerships mostly at Hunt Middle School in Burlington. In 2022, she received a Master of Education in Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Most recently, she coached principals, non-profit executives, and aspiring leaders  in leadership skills at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She enjoys biking, hiking, and skiing with her family in the mountains of Vermont.

Glory Martin

Executive Assistant to the Superintendent

Glory Martin has been a long-time employee within the Addison Northwest District.  She began her career shortly after graduation from Vergennes Union High School, as the Receptionist at the school.  She later moved over into the Principal's Confidential Secretary position.  After being at VUHS for 19 years, Glory moved up the chain to become the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent for the district.  She has recently completed a total of 32 years with ANWSD.

Glory has been involved with VAEOP (VT Association of Educational Office Professionals), the VT Communications Network through the VT Superintendents' Association, and most recently a member of NESPRA (New England School Public Relations Association).

Sheila Soule

Superintendent of Schools

Soule was appointed in July of 2018. She is a native of Randolph, Vermont and is a thirty-year career educator. She was the Director of Curriculum in the Harwood Unified Union School District prior to coming to ANWSD.

A graduate of Johnson State College, she received her Master of Education from the University of Vermont in 2004. Soule is also a graduate of the Waddington Leadership Program through the Center for Creative Leadership and was founder and past president of the Vermont Curriculum Leaders Association. Soule is currently co-president of the Champlain Valley Superintendent's Association. 

 

Melissa Strong

Data Management

Melissa joined the team in August of 2021, and has been working as the district's Data Manager since November of 2021. Melissa was born and raised in Vergennes, and is a graduate of Johnson State College. She currently resides in the Little City with her husband and three children. 

 

Tim White

Technology Systems Administrator

White was hired as the Technology Systems Administrator in June of 2023. Immediately prior to that, he was with Champlain College. Tim has over 20 years of experience in networking and system administration dealing with all manner of operating systems including Microsoft, Mac, and Linux. Born in New York, raised in Vermont, and now living in Hinesburg with his wife & surrounded by his daughters, Tim spends his off hours camping in State Parks or on his motorcycle.

 

Gary Wright

Director of Buildings, Grounds, and Safety

Wright was hired as the Assistant Director of Buildings, Grounds and Safety in 2019. In May of 2022 Wright took over the role as Director of Buildings, Grounds and Safety.  He was born and brought up in Vermont.  He has 36 years of commercial, refrigeration and HVAC and building maintenance experience.  He is certified in propane, natural gas and universal refrigeration and building automation systems.
