School Board

ANWSD VISION STATEMENT
We envision a kind, collaborative, and creative community for all that nurtures a diverse and accessible learning environment. Students will flourish as critical thinkers and productive citizens, cultivating resilience in an ever-changing world.

The Addison Northwest School District Board includes 12 School Directors elected to represent our five communities:  Addison, Ferrisburgh, Panton, Vergennes, and Waltham.

The Board provides fiscal oversight, policy development, and other resources to enable teachers, administrators, and staff members to prepare students to meet standards set by the state and federal agencies.

The School Board meets on the second and third Monday of each month at the Vergennes Union High School, unless specified otherwise.  Meetings start at 6:00 p.m.

Media Factory films the second regular Board meeting. Watch School Board LIVE meetings on Facebook or at MediaFactory.org/anwsd.

Thinking About Serving on Your School Board?

The voters in each local district elect a school board to serve as trustees on their behalf—both to assure high quality education and to assure that voters receive an excellent return on investment.

School boards create the vision for education, establish policy for the district, hire a superintendent, approve the budget for presentation to voters, and monitor student performance, district policies, and finances.  Board members engage the community in their work.  Put simply—the board sets the direction, hires competent administrators, and provides high level oversight to assure high performance and accountability.
